Planning Application Submitted for Major Redevelopment in the Heart of Aldgate

We are proud to be involved in a revised planning application submitted in December 2020 to the London Borough of Tower Hamlets on behalf of Alliance Properties & South Street Asset Management. DML has led the planning process for the regeneration of an under-utilised site on the corner of Commercial Street and Whitechapel High Street into a world class, commercial development designed by leading architects, Foster + Partners. The scheme incorporates 350,000 ft² of grade A office floor space including 40,000 ft² of affordable work space and a vibrant mix of retail and public realm at ground level that will benefit the local community.
The site is conveniently located next to Aldgate East underground station and with easy access to the forthcoming opening of the new Whitechapel Crossrail station.
This high quality landmark scheme is driven by continued demand from technology, media, finance and telecoms occupiers who are attracted to invest and locate in the heart of Aldgate.
The planning application for 101 Whitechapel High Street is expected to be determined during Q2 2021.
On Monday 6th January 2025 DML Founder Kevin McGovern assumed the role of Chairman of DML. Rory McGovern has been promoted to the role of Chief Executive. Rory will now lead the executive team made up of Matthew Dymott, Rachel Warren and Nilisha Patel.
Commenting on this change, Kevin McGovern said “Having founded DML 20 years ago it is now time to step away from day to day operational control and support the team in moving forwards.
